Maybe I should read it, just to compare.

The crime-solving wasn't as passive in the adaptation I think. Elizabeth plays quite a large role in it actually. And there's no confession letter.Birdiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240886179336298463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-64679923201272585842014-01-14T04:10:32.145+01:002014-01-14T04:10:32.145+01:00I didn't care much for the book either, but yo...I didn't care much for the book either, but your review sounds good--maybe I would prefer the show?Reading in the Darkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13812641480668564435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-81827172367436339472014-01-14T01:35:43.274+01:002014-01-14T01:35:43.274+01:00Well, what I loved was the hilarious prologue. But mostly, I hated how the account of the finding of the body was repeated over and over and over. By the time we got to the trial and had to have it repeated yet again, I started skipping whole paragraphs.

The other thing I didn't like is how passive the crime-solving was. Clues get handed to Darcy right and left, the murderer confesses in a letter, and even the whole subplot of what to do with Lydia and Wickham gets solved by some stranger. Darcy and Elizabeth are anything but passive in the original, and that really bugged me.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-26582044347639418662014-01-13T23:25:58.019+01:002014-01-13T23:25:58.019+01:00Oh, hope you enjoy it!
