Oh well, I still met some really great people there!

Thanks for answering the questions!

Amazing Grace is so powerful, it never gets old.
Birdiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240886179336298463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-61261353266919830432015-08-25T05:36:01.233+02:002015-08-25T05:36:01.233+02:00And because I felt inclined to answer your questio...And because I felt inclined to answer your questions, here we go.

1) My mother is an assistant and my father is a security officer. Neither career appeals to me all that much, but I'm not entirely fond of data entry either, which is what I do now. I'm not sure where I'll end up, probably publishing since I have an English degree.

2) Grizzly bears, yes. Too many horror stories.

3) Pack a picnic lunch, grab my family or a friend and go to one of the Colorado state parks, probably Mueller. I'd love to take my photographer friend along.

4) I go to museums for the sake of others in my family, namely my historian sister who loves all kinds of museums. If I had a favorite, it would probably be an art museum.

5) I get all 4 seasons, which is awesome! Lots of sun, fresh air, and beautiful snow in the wintertime.

6) THE OCEAN! I'm in a landlocked state and after living 6 years of my early life on the Oregon coast, this is very hard for me.

7) It's a miniseries instead of a movie, but I absolutely loved Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell! Such an awesome series!

8) It depends on what you make of it. I miss the world before Facebook when you could blog and actually get responses and I miss the era of the forums. I belonged to a really fantastic Lord of the Rings forum back in 2002 and you just don't see that type of thing anymore. It's really sad. I like technology fine, but not at the expense of genuine interaction with others.

9) I play Frozen Free Fall and that's pretty much it. But I do love it!

10) It's probably cliched, but Amazing Grace, not only for the sentiment, but also for the story behind it.

11) Butter Pecan ice cream is the best. Yum! I do love chocolate, but I think this ice cream tops even that for me.Carissa (Regency Woman)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16052175780167961631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-64250905601488219982015-08-25T05:26:09.438+02:002015-08-25T05:26:09.438+02:00Thanks for answering the tag, Birdie!
I love that...Thanks for answering the tag, Birdie!

I love that you would fund scientific studies for yourself with the $10,000. That's a pretty neat idea and one I hadn't considered.

Yes, you are so fortunate living in Europe. I've only visited Canada for 3 hours and that's the extent of my travels outside the US.

You've never seen Star Wars!? Wow, I was literally raised on the original trilogy. Still love them today!

And yep, I love Watson too because he is so much more approachable. Although Holmes isn't quite as peevish in the stories as he can be in film.

I first started blogging on Livejournal too, many years ago. I wish I hadn't deleted that blog, though. The mistakes we make in the heat of the moment.

Carissa (Regency Woman)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16052175780167961631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-26232973209517560762015-08-17T01:25:52.187+02:002015-08-17T01:25:52.187+02:00Nope, no bears here anymore, unless they escape fr...Nope, no bears here anymore, unless they escape from a zoo. Definitely, there is every reason to be afraid of those animals! Luckily I don't think I'll often run into them. Are there bears where you live in the US?Birdiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240886179336298463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-46775579612273498862015-08-15T14:35:30.868+02:002015-08-15T14:35:30.868+02:00I love board games, and rarely get to play "b...I love board games, and rarely get to play "big people" games anymore, but I just played two called Rummikub Jr. and Silly Sentences with my kids this afternoon :-)

Here are my answers to your questions, because I felt like it :-)

1. My dad is a pastor and my mom is a teacher. But when I was at home, my mom was a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom, which is what I am now.

2. I think I'm reasonably afraid of animals like grizzly bears and crocodiles.

3. A whole day off? As in, someone is watching my kids all day long? Wow. I would go to Starbucks and write for a few hours, eat lunch out somewhere, then go to a movie. Then go to the bookstore and browse the sections I rarely get to browse, aka not the kids' section :-)

4. Yes, we do. I like history museums best, but I enjoy art and science museums too.

5. I like our neighborhood and our house, and the fact that my brother and his family live less than an hour away.

6. I don't love how many people there are around here -- I miss small town and rural kinds of solitude.

7. Best new-to-me, you mean? North & South.

8. Both. Better in how fast we can communicate and share information. Worse in how much time we waste on them.

9. None.

10. "My Home is Built on Nothing Less."

11. Chocolate ice cream.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.com
