For me it wasn't even that there wasn't enough romance, but that it all felt so sudden, especially the ending: a marriage proposal, really?Birdiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240886179336298463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2168521040936634641.post-58903872707160948362015-11-12T04:59:33.170+01:002015-11-12T04:59:33.170+01:00Siri really does have an extremely unique voice, l...Siri really does have an extremely unique voice, like you said. I'm fond of her writing, well, most of her writing, and really, genuinely love Like a Flower in Bloom. I'd never given it much thought, but you're right about her using a very introverted style. Because I have so much activity going on inside my head, I love it when characters have very strong inner lives, very like Charlotte. Of course, she's extremely awkward, but that just made me lover her more. About the romance, I think this book falls more into the category of being a historical rather than a historic romance. It is strange how they marketed it as a historic romance when that just doesn't quite fit the story. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it all that much, but not every book is a rousing success with every reader. Have you tried Love Comes Calling? It's very quirky and set in the 1920s, but I found it fascinating.Carissa (Regency Woman)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16052175780167961631noreply@blogger.com
